Hi,

I pursued my Bachelor's from an Indian university from 2015-2019.

1. I graduated with Bachelor's in engineering in Jul'19 but have been working since Mar'18. Mar'18 - Feb'19 was an internship and Mar'19 onwards, it was full time employment.

2. Should I mention this study as part time or full time ( since I only attended university for 2.5 years out of 4 years due to internship cum placement with a company) ?

3. For FSW program, can I count work experience from Mar'18 to Jul'19 in CRS ? If yes, should it be mentioned as part time or full time work experience ?

4. Saw the post by IRCC on twitter. Will my above-mentioned study get counted as part time or full time and can I get points for both education and work experience ?

1. As long as paid, continious for one year and in a skilled NOC, you can count it.
2. You can count it.
3. If it was full time then it is full time.

Yes boss !

And @akaur13 for your perusal -

The comprehensive information regarding work experience requirement is provided by IRCC
The link

Eligibility to apply as a Federal Skilled Worker (Express Entry)
This program is for skilled workers with foreign work experience who want to immigrate to Canada permanently.

Minimum requirements
Skilled work experience

Skilled work experience means that you’ve worked in 1 of these National Occupational Classification (NOC) job groups:
  • Managerial jobs (skill type 0)
  • Professional jobs (skill level A)
  • Technical jobs and skilled trades (skill level B)
You must show that while working in your primary occupation, you performed the duties set out in the lead statement of the occupational description in the NOC. This includes all the essential duties and most of the main duties listed.

Your skilled work experience must be
  • in the same type of job (have the same NOC) as the job you want to use for your immigration application (called your primary occupation)
  • within the last 10 years
  • paid work (have been paid wages or earned commission—volunteer work or unpaid internships don’t count)
  • at least 1 year of continuous work or 1,560 hours total (30 hours per week)—you can meet this in a few different ways:
    • full-time at 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full-time (1,560 hours)
    • equal amount in part-time work: for example 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
      • You can work as many part-time jobs as you need to meet this requirement
    • full-time at more than 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than 1 job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
Part-time work experience
Your skilled work experience must be paid work including paid wages or earned commission. We don’t count volunteer work or unpaid internships.

For part-time work, you can work more or less than 15 hours/week as long as it adds up to 1,560 hours. You can work more than 1 part-time job to get the hours you need to apply.

We don’t count any hours you work above 30 hours/week.

Student work experience
Work experience gained while you were studying may count towards your minimum requirements if the work:

Thanks for your reply.

1. As for " If it was full time then it is full time.", the defintion of full time studies on IRCC website is atleast 15 hours in class per week for the duration of study. I did this 2.5 years out of 4 years. For the last one and a half years, I worked full time but did take university exams. Will it be considered part time/full time ?
2. The tenure of my studies overlaps with my work experience for 1.5 years. Thus, the confusion here is whether I can claim points for both work and study for this period. Also, which of work and study should be mentioned as full time and part time or that both should be mentioned as full time or part time.
