Hello,

I am in process of applying for my Citizenship. I have a question regarding PCC, I received my PR status in June 2017 post which I travelled back to India. I came back to Canada in April 2018. I am assuming since it was more than 180 days I will need to provide PCC which applying for Citizenship. Can anyone please confirm that my understanding is correct?

TIA

Are you sure? They would have stayed for less than 180 days in a 4 year period, if you count backwards from today.

You need to get certificate if you stayed in India for more than 183 days in a row. ex if you stayed twice for 90 days, you do not need certificate. it is mentioned on the checklist page of the citizenship application.

We stayed from July 2017 to April 2018. So more than 180 days.

The 4-year period would be from Nov 20 2017 to Nov 20 2021. And Nov 20 2017 to April 2018 is less than 183 days, so you should not require the PCC.
