Now that my Oath is scheduled. I was preparing to gather the documents requried and I am guessing it would be my driver's license and PR card ?

Also, the address on my driver's license is different from the address on my citizenship application, will this be an issue ?

Thank you

Congrats and I have also been scheduled for December 3rd for Oath.

It says "
You've been scheduled to attend your citizenship ceremony on December 3, 2021.

Follow the instructions we sent to you for information on:

  • how to attend the ceremony
  • what documents you have to present
The notice you’ll receive is the official confirmation of the appointment. If you haven’t received the notice by the date of the scheduled appointment, contact us."

"We sent" it says, did you receive any email already or is it usually sent 1 week before ?

Thanks
My status for the oath was updated on the 8th and I got the email on the 13th for an oath ceremony on the 24th (all November dates).

My address needs to be changed as well. I have sent like 5 online requests over 4 months to change to new address but they still have not.

I guess you let them know during the ceremony that you have live at a new address so they mail the certificate at the correct address hopefully.

Yes. In the oath invitation instructions it does mention that at the beginning of the ceremony, you will ...

validate your home address with the IRCC official, when asked, so that we can send you your citizenship certificate to the correct address.
(the emphasis is in the document)

You don't need your COPR. It is a worthless document after you have received your PR card.
COPR isn't a worthless document. You need your COPR later in life to collect things like old age benefits.

This was mentioned by the IRCC clerk at the ceremony.

That is the only proof you have of ever having landed as a legal Permanent Resident in Canada (because you'll destroy your PR card at the end of the ceremony).

AND... I was asked for my COPR at the oath ceremony by the clerk as one of the documents.

I can guarantee you this is not true at all, COPR is not an IMM 1000. You do not need your COPR later in life. The canadian government is more than capable of knowing when you arrived for the sake of old age benefits. And from the oath letter:
All of the original documents in your possession: your permanent resident card if you have one (even if
it’s expired) or your confirmation of permanent residence (IMM5292 or IMM5688), as well as your record of landing (IMM 1000), if you became a permanent resident before June 28, 2002 and have one;
So, no, you don't need your COPR. If they asked you for it and you said you lost it but you have your PR card, that would've been acceptable.

Okay cool. Either way, I am keeping mine. The clerk specifically told me just because you destroy your PR card, you shouldn't discard your COPR but to each his own, I guess.

I was told to write "Holder is no longer a Permanent Resident" on the COPR at the end of the ceremony, which I also recorded in my detailed oath experience post.

I won't argue on the worth of the COPR here, but it wouldn't harm to have it with you during the ceremony. PR Card or COPR are both acceptable as per the oath ceremony invitation.

Anyway, good luck for the oath ceremony and hope you have a fulfilling experience.

Me too. I don't see any reason to discard it or consider it worthless.

It is worthless because it cannot be used for anything at all yet it's a document that holds personal information about you and so can be possibly used against you. You cannot use it for proof of identity, you cannot use it to apply for social benefits, you cannot even use it to obtain a library card. Whatever value you think it has is superseceded by your PR card, and even more so by a Canadian passport. That's really all I have to say on that subject.
