Do professional degree and one-year diploma fall under "Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees..etc"

Hello,
My professional degree gets me 135 points. I was thinking of doing a one-year diploma to earn an extra 90 points. But then I wondered if these two are going to be combined into one category "Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years"

In such a case, I'd earn a total of 128 points for the two degrees, which is seven points LESS than my professional degree alone!

Please advise!

A professional degree is the highest amount of points you can get. Doing another diploma adds no more points.

Hi,

It says on the CRS breakdown score that the maximum point for education is 150 (PhD). My degree earns me 135 points (Professional/Master's). The reason I thought I could do a diploma is to get these 15 points. Am I missing something?

You have a professional degree so adding a diploma will not give you extra points. It only gives extra points if you have a bachelors and then add a diploma.

I would have wasted a lot of time and money had you not been around to clarify this point. I appreciate it.

What is your CRS score?
I keep throwing different CRS scores when people ask me this based on certain calculations. But right now, I'm sitting on 453. You told me once that my options are limited because I'm non-practicing in a licensed field. I'll just wait till my contract here ends then pursue a Master's degree in Canada.

Even then and after I adjust for age, I'll end up at 466. Hopefully, my Canadian degree would open up opportunities. I hear some PNPs like Alberta scout for CRS of 300-400, maybe I'll get an interest there.

I'm determined to move to Canada. I welcome any suggestions.
