Apply work permit while PR is processing

Hi,
Hope you all are doing well. I am a PNP outland applicant waiting for confirmation since last 14 months:

COR: India
Applied under: PNP Express Entry(OINP, Human Capital Priorities Stream)
AOR: 20th Sep 2020
Medical passed: 24th Oct 2020
Biometrics: 15th Nov 2020

I haven’t received the remedical request yet.

Now my employer wants to apply work permit for me. Could anyone please suggest whether this will impact my PR processing? How much time it’s taking to get work permit from India these days?

What province and does the employer require a LMIA? Processing for just the work permit is around 35 weeks.

Appreciate your quick response. Work permit is to be applied for Ontario and It’s LMIA exempt…

35 weeks for work permit!!!
I am not sure whether it would be wise to apply for work permit as during this time I hope I may get PR decision…

How is it LMIA exempt? Processing may be different.

Hi,

Yes, it’s an Intra Company Transfer (The work permit granted for an Intra Company Transferee applicant is LMIA-exempt and falls under exemption code C-12).

In LMIA exempt case will be the processing time lesser?

No what PNP program do you have nomination and what stream? Your employer has to go through LMIA exemption process so have your employer start the process.

Ohh my bad… I have got PNP nomination (OINP, Human Capital Priorities stream).
