My profile got zero points from CRS, although it should be 450 according to the CRS tool. Where am I doing something wrong?

Hi!

I am trying to apply for an Express Entry, but my profile got zero points from CRS. This is highly unlikely because I already reside in Canada, and I work as a postdoctoral researcher.

I think I made a fundamental mistake while filling out the forms. Can anyone spot my error? Please see the below link for my EE profile

You state an LMIA was not needed for the job offer in Canada, but then you replied that there is an employer named on your current work permit.

Either you have an open or closed work permit, if it's a closed work permit, you need an LMIA.

While applying for a work permit, I have explicitly stated that the type of my work permit is "Exempt from LMIA."

Hmmmm, curious.

Have you already gotten your ECA?

Did you calculate your points for FSW criteria (not CRS), did you get 67 points or higher?

If you're creating a profile for EE, you need your ECA and language test result.

Isn't there a place to put your ECA reference no.?

No, I did not. Do I need to?
If you studied outside of Canada, yes. Without it, automatic disqualification. Express Entry 101.

It will be on the page where you put your education information.

it will ask something to the effect of whether your degree was studied in Canada or abroad, if abroad you need to put your ECA reference number.

All right, I think I found what I am doing wrong. Thanks for the help.

Also, one more thing: On my work permit, my LMIA starts with an A. Does that mean it is LMIA-exempt? Because when I tried to put it in, there was an error telling me that the LMIA number must be all numeric characters.

You're LMIA exempt based on the info you've provided.

Since you're LMIA exempt, note that you cannot claim the 50 job offer points until you've worked for your employer for a full year in Canada.

Thanks! I haven't worked for a year, anyways. So, that won't make a difference, I suppose.
