Hi, I am sponsoring my parents. Me, my wife and my only son are Canadian Citizen. I have a question regarding IMM 5406 online (not the paper one) form. I initially thought I will have to provide information for my parents, their children's (i.e us) and their siblings and this this is what the instruction says for the paper form. However, when looking at the online portal, it says the following:

Here is my question:

You (the principal applicant) must fill out this form for yourself and on behalf of any of your family members 18 years of age or older who are not already Canadian citizens or permanent residents.

Does this mean I as a Canadian citizen do not need to provide my information on this form?

Anyone please help!

You don't need to include yourself since you are a Canadian citizen

In connection to your question. I need help with IMM 0008. For dependants/dependents, I'm confused whether or not to include myself and my siblings. I am a Canadian citizen and my siblings are not and they are not accompanying my parents here in Canada and they are not financially dependant on my parents. Please help anyone. Thank you

You don't need to include yourself since you are a Canadian citizen

It says in the portal "You will be asked to fill out a number of personal details, including information found on your passport and/or national identity document, if you have them. Keep them ready while filling out this form.

If you have any dependants (accompanying or non-accompanying), this information will also be needed for them. For more information, visit the instruction guide for this form."

Instruction guide says "
Important
You must list all family members in your application for permanent residence, whether they are accompanying you to Canada or not. You must also provide details on family members whose location is unknown (including those missing or presumed dead). If these family members are not listed on your application, you will not be able to sponsor them at a later date."

You will have to provide your information as a non accompanying dependent. When you provide your information as dependent, just say that you are not accompanying because you already live in Canada as Citizen. I did same for my case. Hope that helps.
