Hi all,

I'm looking to apply visitor for my mother and she is a single parent from India. I'm not sure where to start or what documents to be included. Could someone of you please list the documents or details required for me to kick start? Looking for some urgent help. TIA.

Generally the following documents are required:
1. Proof of your relationship - Birth certificate
2. Proof of your Canadian status - Citizenship/PR card/Passport
3. Letter of invitation
4. Proof of ties with India (invitee)
5. Proof of Fund (Inviter + Invitee)
6. Air ticket

Is the Air ticket mandatory to attach now? It should be done after the visa getting approved right?

It is strongly suggested that you attach the return ticket as well, Visa Officer needs to be convinced that the visitor will return after the visit. Just my 2 cents

Just asking,
But how should we invest in tickets if we are not even certain we will have the visa? And even if we do have it, we can’t even know the month or even year in which they will send it.

No, you don't have to...your overall application should be strong, booking return ticket is not a strong evidence that you'll return since the visa officer knows that anyone can cancel the tickets.

Is this for spouse or parent?

I also applied for TRV on same date Oct 10 for my spouse on the new portal. Biometrics already completed with old application via GC key. No update as yet. Eligibility check not started yet. Will keep you posted.
