Ghost update.. went from DM back to IP?

Hello there,

Today I got a ghost update on the new tracker. Nothing changes besides the date. Everything else is still green except oath.However, on eCAS my file went from decision made to back in process (DM to IP)? Anyone experience this before? I am Jan 2020 applicant from Calgary office. Passed test March 2021 and originally had DM Aug 25 2021. Not sure where to go from here. I feel hopeless

Indeed strange. Did you provide fingerprints before? The only thing I could think of is that maybe your criminality clearance has expired, and they are rechecking it again.

I did not provide fingerprints. My background check went complete Jan 20 2021. And the prohibition went complete Aug 25 2021. I sent a email to Calgary office address from the test link last week asking for an update. Along with stating that my background will go back to in process after one year so Jan 2022. So not sure if I pissed them off or what but this sucks. Pretty much jinxed myself. But also weird that everything is still green on the new tracker? I might apply for notes from them just not sure if it’s worth it

It would be a shame for them if they are trying to punish you for sending an email to them. Maybe it's a glitch. Only time can confirm. Notes will take months, but they can confirm the status of your file.

My email address was put in wrong by the agent when they sent my AOR. Then when I tried updating it covid happened so I waited. March 2021 I noticed lots of people on here and FB getting invite for test. So I called and they said your test is due in a few days. And because I didn’t have the link I can’t do it. So probably have to wait 3 month for a new invite. But the agent said he would try and get in contact with my local office. The next day I woke up to a email from Calgary office with test link. So I ended up not having to cancel my test. So I still have that email address from test so I just email them cause webform does nothing.

Thank you for getting back so quick. Same thing happened but in different scenario my finger print was done on Feb 2020 and August 2020 status was complete and early Jan 2021 incomplete. Whereas my husband it was not asked and until today his finger print status is complete. We are all one application. I feel they do things different Not to put your hopes down. We will hear from them soon. You receiving some updates shows there is somebody working

It's also possible someone accidentally got into your file and changed the status by mistake. We don't know how their internal systems work and how prone they are to user errors (for example, if the status field is a dropdown menu etc).

If I were you, in addition to asking for GCMS, I'd also create a straightforward webform saying "my application status was decision made but then it changed to In Progress, I'm wondering if this latest update was a mistake".

Do you know the difference between GCMS notes and ATIP?! The main difference I saw was the price which I don’t care about. I also saw something about GCMS from IRCC or CBSA? Not sure what I should get. Was gonna ask here or research some more. And thanks will definitely send webform tomorrow

It should be GCMS from IRCC, you're just trying to find out the current status/past updates on your application in their Global Case Management System(GCMS).

Definitely not CBSA. CBSA ATIP is to double check your entry/exit dates to/from Canada.

So looks like another update happened today on new tracker. Just the date again Nov 3. And eCAS is back to DM.. so not sure what happened but hopefully oath is soon
