Hi,

My name is Satish and working in India. I am applying for Canada PR in 2022. In the meantime I have received a offer from a Indian company which has its HQ in US and a subsidiary office in Canada. I have been hired for projects which are based in US and Canada.

Since projects are in Canada, new company will apply for employer specific Canada work permit.

As per the offer negotiations, I have asked if the new company can provide a offer letter from Canada subsidiary as this might add 50 points and response has been positive.

I want to know from the fellow user on the forum and experts, What things to consider? Is there anything I am missing or overlooked?

Regards,
Satish

Has your company applied for a LMIA or is it LIMA exempt. A job offer doesn’t give you 50 points.

There are two ways in which you can qualify for the 50 job offer points.

1) Your employer obtains an approved LMIA.
2) You obtain an LMIA-exempt work permit (e.g. ICT) and complete one year of full time work experience in Canada under that work permit.

Your company is most likely going to apply for an ICT. If so, you won't qualify for the 50 job offer points until after you've worked for a year in Canada.

Issue with ICT may be (could be reading post wrong) the OP hasn’t worked for the company for at least a year to be eligible for an ICT. Says has an offer from Indian company with offices in Canada so not sure if OP has worked for the company or has a job offer.

You're right. So the ICT is not viable. Employer needs to get an approved LMIA.
