Applying for citizenship with a pending PR card revision application

I was wondering if I could get help on the following matter.

I am eligible to apply for citizenship; however, I currently have a pending application to change my name on my PR card.

I am not sure if I should wait for the completion of my PR card revision and then apply for citizenship, or I can apply for citizenship now while having a pending application for changing my name on the PR card.

CIC indicates the processing time for changing the name on the PR card is about 4.6 months. This is a long wait time and I don't want to delay my citizenship for this long; however, I am not sure if applying for citizenship right now with a pending revision on my PR card will complicate my citizenship application and result in its rejection. I thought I ask it here. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Your pending PR card renewal application has no effect whatsoever on your citizenship application. As long as you meet the requirements for citizenship and you continue to obey the PR residency obligations (2/5 years physical presence in the country), then you should be good.
