Query related to CRS Profile Creation (Does -- have a valid work permit for the current job in Canada?)

Hi All,

I need some inputs to answer the question (Does -- have a valid work permit for the current job in Canada?) while submitting the CRS profile. I can see 3 options (Yes, No - My job doesn't require a work permit and No - My job requires a valid work permit but I do not have one).

My work permit expired on 24th Sep 2021 and applied for an extension. Hence my application is in progress and I didn't receive new work permit yet.

Which option I need to choose out of the 3 options? Can someone reply to this question if you had the same experience like mine?

Thanking in advance for your help.

Best Regards,
Santosh

Are you on an open work permit or closed work permit with LMIA?

@Naturgrl

Which option I need to choose out of 3 options? I am waiting to receive my new work permit
You are on implied status so would say 3 as you don’t have a new work permit. I may be very wrong and could be 1.

Maintained status (while processing an application)This is a legal extension of status that allows temporary residents to stay in Canada while we process their application. To be eligible, the temporary resident must apply to extend their status before it expires. This used to be known as “implied status.”

Hi,
I found the below info in cic site:

“Maintained status” means you can stay in Canada and, if eligible, keep working while we make a decision on your application.

  1. If you’re in Canada with maintained status and are still authorized to work at the time you complete your Express Entry profile:
    • Answer “yes” to the question “Does [your name] have a valid work permit for the current job in Canada?”
Therefore, I need to select yes only for this question. Thanks for replying to my questions
