Active Tuberculosis: Process timeline

My husband's process for Canadian Visa has started but he has a tuberculosis history and during emedical it was found that he has active tuberculosis (sputum culture was positive). He will now have to wait for the drug sensitivity report which will then determine his course of tuberculosis treatment. He will then have to start the TB treatment followed by a sputum test, according to the doctor. Can someone please guide as to
how long will be the delay in the process?
is there any way to fastrack this process?
What are the chances of his Visa being accepted?/rejected?

I have also read that the visa may get accepted and the applicant may be allowed to complete TB treatment in canada.

- This will delay the process for multiple months. I believe the treatment takes a minimum of 2-3 months and then he'll need to complete further medical tests to make sure he's clear.
- No, no way to fast track. He has to complete the treatment and retake the required medical exams.
- He should be approved as long as the completes the treatment and can clear the medical.

Treatment is usually 6 months and he’ll also need to repeat sputum culture and x-rays to make sure that TB has resolved which will take another 2-3 months. Unfortunately you are looking at a significant delay. Canada doesn’t usually allow known cases of TB to enter Canada so he will likely have to remain in his home country until after treatment and confirmation that He no longer has TB.

Just to answer this last question. This is unfortunately incorrect.

Individuals with inactive TB sometimes have to undergo medical surveillance once they reach Canada. However since your husband's TB is active, this needs to be addressed and the treatment complete before he can come to Canada.

The good news is that Canada will hold his application open while he completes treatment and redoes the medical exams.

Hi again,
So I am writing here again with a lot of hope of getting more guidance on the topic of active TB
My husband got culture positive result for TB and the requirement was a sensitivity test before the TB treatment could be started.
however, Inspite of waiting for weeks, the sensitivity result was not determined by the lab. The reason stated was- the TB bacteria were not isolated and we had to begin the treatment without the sensitivity result.
it has been three months of treatment and the authorities have been asking for other tests- hepatitis C, X ray, interferon test for me (the spouse). We have been diligently following all the directions.
The X ray shows no change. My husband is completely asymptomatic as always.
but now they are asking for a sensitivity test again which is very complicated as the authorised lab is not able to obtain those results. I really need to know what exactly is going on?

my dependent has been diagnosed with active tb (sputum culture positive) during her medical exam for our PR application. She has already started the treatment which is going to last for 6 months but her current visitor visa status expires soon. Similarly, my closed work permit and my spouse SOWP expires soon too.

my question is.. will we face any problem while applying for her visitor record and my BOWP so that we can stay in Canada and my daughter can complete her tb treatment or will it get rejected!? I’m really worried and if you can answer that would be helpful!

However, since her current visitor status is expiring soon, we will have to apply for a visitor record so that she can be in Canada to complete her treatment.
My question is, will her visitor record extension can get rejected due to medical inadmissibility?

This is such a rare situation so impossible to say what will happen.
