1. we were planning to get a new passport but due to covid lockdowns, her appointment is being moved, its been delayed 2 times.. thats why we are wondering if we can skip the last name change on her passport.

2. before marriage we were in long distance relationship for 3 years, we have video calls pictures and chats (but in other language). is it okay if i dont provide chats to the visa officer? (i dont know where to find the certified translator, we have thousands of chats (3 years))

my wife applied without changing her last name on passport… we are still waiting though since MVO is extremely slow.
There seems to be no problem regarding my wife not changing her last name.

Hi! Anyone here applied for TRV recently with an ongoing spousal application? They sent us medical request today and I'm just wondering if there's still a chance to be refused at this stage. I'm not sure when they usually send refusal letter to applicants. Any thoughts?

medical request is pretty early in the application process.
One can fail during any process of the application.
Don’t bother applying for TRV for Philippines.
I applied TRV for my wife in January 2021 and they still haven’t even process it

Hi! We applied February 2021 with no updates for 4 months, until my MP recommended (email June 8) for us to submit a priority processing request that she'll forward to IRCC. June 15 she got a response from IRCC that documents have been forwarded to MVO, the next day we got medical request and then adr by June 17. Maybe you should reach out to your MP as well.

i reached out to my MP dozens of times, it doesn’t help. All the MP does is ask for status update which I can do myself.
And it seems like MVO is taking long time to process.

My wife’s file was transferred to MVO in January 2020 and we are still waiting…we received pre arrival letter in March 2021 and then nothing.

guys, my spouse is in philippines (im in canada), is it okay if i send her the filled-up forms online, but she will only print and sign the required pages in the forms, not all pages.

the rest of the pages, i will print here in canada (to save shipping weight/fees).

That should overall be fine but be aware some forms have bar codes that change every time the file is changed or even opened. So it can be a bit of a technical challenge.

Hi everyone! We just sent our outland spousal application via courier. Hoping for a fast and positive outcome! Anyone here who recently submitted an application?

Thank you!

Hi everyone! I just received my passport request. But just wondering because it said in the letter that I have to send it to VAC New York. Is it okay to send it to the VFS office here in Cebu instead so it's less complicated or do I really need to send it to VAC New York? I went to VFS today and they read the letter and said that I can do either way but I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. Thank you so much!

Hi everyone!
Does anyone know the processing time of MVO before PPR?
My application was transferred after medical passed.

it usually takes about 2-3 months provided they don’t request anymore documents. This was pre-COVID. With COVID it may take a little longer depending on the circumstances and local restrictions in Manila.
