Not sure what world you live in but all of those English-speaking nations including the UK, Australia, and New Zealand offer visas that allow Canadian citiZens to live and work in those countries. Here are some links for your information:

UK: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadians/international-experience-canada/work-travel-united-kingdom.html
Australia: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/work-holiday-417
New Zealand: https://www.mfat.govt.nz/en/countries-and-regions/americas/canada/new-zealand-high-commission/working-holiday-scheme/#:~:text=For Canadians to work in,the Immigration New Zealand website .

I haven't looked at EU countries but pretty sure there are many ways you can work in the EU as a Canadian citizen without the hassle of applying for visas that the citizens of third world nations have to go through.
Beat me to it. Imagine being such a stellar loser to call some foreign country you just immigrated to "our country" (probably with a pretty thick accent lmao) while not knowing jack about what its passport can do. I'd love seeing him "our country"-ing around some die hard Albertans, now that'd be fun to watch lol.

Yep. He reminds me of that one Indian guy on Kubeir's FB group who got so butthurt by my comments he started harassing me with his comments. He would say something like: "Stop saying bad things about my country you asshole". It was heartbreaking to see him get so hurt by my comments

/care

It'd take a highschool junior 2 hours to fix the LOE bug that's apparently been around for years now. If I were to troll-defend a country on some immigration forum I'd at least pick a country that knows how to write some code for their government websites.

Apparently, tech jobs aren't considered essential in Canada therefore no surprises regarding the poor IT infrastructure.
Ever wonder why Express Entry website has so many login issues? Among other things, their SAML based SSO implementation fails under load. This hurts a lot of folks who are using "Partner Sign-on" feature...

And then why does IRCC sucks so much in processing application? This is what they are doing :

1. They take in application, then some analyst enters its "essential" details in GCMS... manually.

2. They have automated system to generate "refusal" messages. BUT, those are in excel... most likely implemented using VBA. So... a VO uses that to generate the message and then manually copy pastes them to GCMS.

3. Their have a landing portal for CEC that they developed recently.... Its not interated into GCMS. Meaning someone has to trigger it somehow.

4. For certain immigration applications, they make you fill forms in PDF first and then upload to web portal. This means what you enter in PDF is not entered into GCMS right off the bat but saved as an attachment with your application (something they call "e-File"). Now these PDFs auto generate 2-D barcodes / QR Codes that contains encoded information of ALL that you have filled in it. This means somewhere someone or something scans those PDF looking at QR code and populates GCMS.... Rather an awkward way of doing things. They could have avoided this issue by putting all these forms online completely and avoid this PDF business altogether. Heck, local storage and offline apps has been a browser feature since ages. So if their goal was to support filling of form without internet access, that would have worked too!

5. For immigration medical exams, they are borrowing the tracking system from Australia. This means ... well... there is a human element in moving data from one system to another. You take the medical exam, doctor enters data into e-Medical (this is the system primarily developed by Australians for Australian immigration) and then you medicals are assessed by someone from Health Canada. They then put their assessments (as M-codes and S-codes and few more fields) into GCMS ... again manually. Meaning you have a risk of someone getting assessed but their results never making into GCMS. This explains why some folks see MEP appearing towards the end of their processing..

Basically, IRCC express entry is a manual and most paper oriented processing of application trying to pass for a modern software driven system for processing applications. It has too many places in which a human has to basically move data from one application to another. Each of it adds a chance of mistake or missing it altogether. No wonder you have people whose application falls through cracks and never seen for ages till they file mandamus and someone goes looking for those.

Integration of systems is a very essential element of data processing systems. Why the hell did they introduce the online portal if the data entered couldn't be electronically transferred and automated? If this was my company, the IT manager would have been fired a long time ago.

I wonder what they gonna do next year about the infrastructure and online application systems With the budget they allotted recently. According to doug, Canada’s express entry allows only skilled workers from all around the world to enter but has to become permanent resident to work hard by doing unskilled works. It seems that craphead don’t acknowledge skilled noc O A and B jobs require hard work

Thank goodness some of the Federal budget was allocated specifically to updating and improving GCMS, a system that has been held together by packing tape since its inception.

I ain’t tech worker but I understand when they explain something = )
Well his explanation doesn’t have much to do with technology but the internal business workflows which one wouldn’t know without having exposure to some sort of information.

"Mr. Mendicino may or may not remain as Immigration Minister after a new cabinet is sworn in Oct. 26. His and other departments struggled to extricate Canadians and those who had served Canada when the Taliban swept to power in Afghanistan in August.

But overall the country’s immigration performance on this minister’s watch has been impressive. And Canadians should congratulate themselves on remaining an open and welcoming society, even as so many others have closed their doors."

There are publications, and ATIP requests from immigration lawyers, from over the years, that have shed some light on some internal IRCC operations.

Some based on my own experiments with Express entry portal (SAML one I saw how it was working and behaving). If you fill study permit or work permit, you can actually scan QR codes to see what is encoded in it. Use any QR code application. I used to do this to validate the form before uploading. I have seen some very very spooky results. Very Very Very rarely, the validate button does not actually update the damn QR code! So you make small change undo it and press the damn button again so that it correctly fills information in QR codes.

Other comes from GCMS notes, works of former VOs and lawyers. Some examples are :

Don't count on it. IT and information systems tend to be mystical beasts which grow uglier the more money you throw on them. You bring more IT, you bring more problems unless you harmonize your entire systems. Its far too common in places which are NOT tech companies but use a lot of tech from different vendors. I just hope they do it right this time around, though its way more difficult.

Well his explanation doesn’t have much to do with technology but the internal business workflows which one wouldn’t know without having exposure to some sort of information.
As I said, there are those who have exposure to the business processes of IRCC and have written about it. @legalfalcon is one. Vancouver Immigration Blog is a treasure trove of information. Then there are court cases that are too many to list.

I know about e-medical system because I also did PR for Australia in my past. I never immigrated there because my wife gets bad wibes from Australia (her family members have a history there).
