this is starting to feel like a bad investment or a pyramid scheme that the Canadian federal government has going .
how are people that have applied 2yrs ago had nothing happen or get any updates .
did 2019 never happen . there was no covid then .
there is no rhyme or reason on who gets chosen for the oath or updates

When you become a citizen, remember this period when we didn't matter.

Hi friends, I was looking through this thread and I noticed that people say the Scarborough office typically interviews applicants after their citizenship tests. Are interview requests sent through email or phone calls? I am worried that I might have missed calls. How long would it take in general from the test to the interview, if there is indeed an interview?

Not all get interviews. Usually they will update the status in the online portal and also will send an email.

I am still not answering strange numbers, although I heard they might call, which I don't like. I know they called applicants for the oath, but not sure about other steps.

Becoming a Canadian citizen (grant of citizenship)
Last updated: October 19, 2021
We’re still accepting new applications for citizenship.
We’re currently finalizing most applications we received between
July 7 and 13, 2019 ?
If your application is complex, it may take us longer to process it.
so going by this i still have some wait before they get do December 2019

This is only to give them a blanket when questioned about 2019 applications, while in reality the are giving oath invites to 2021 applicants.

I asked about this and the agent said this doesn't mean that every application received before this date will be processed, so overall even if this showed December 2019/Or January 2020, you couldn't question them and they still can say its up to the officers and each case is unique and we cannot compare the files. So overall I am just hoping that somehow someone looks at my file and it gets processed otherwise going by this trend we might not get citizenship before 2022 December.

Just consider that based on IRCC this the processing time from the date an application is submitted to a decision (DM) not the oath! Add a few months for the oath.
