My understanding is that you only need to do it for your parents and their dependents if there is any. If there are no dependents then you will need to do it only for your parents

Can we save form IMM0008 filled online. It says you can click on File and Save. But I don't see that option. Please help if anyone knows.
Also, I don't see any option to enter email address in Form IMM0008, however in Guide at:

So I am sponsoring my parent (Father Primary applicant and Mother Dependent Applicant). There is no other person in my family who is dependent on them.
I have a question IMM 5406 (Family Background)
when open the form
i have added 2 entry
1) for my father and in the entry i have filled his information , his spouse (my mother), his 2 other child (non dependent/MySiblings), his siblings(2), his parents
2) for my mother and in the entry i have filled her information , her spouse (my father), her 2 other child (non dependent/MySiblings), her siblings(4), her parents

Now I have two question
1) Do I have to add entry based on each person related to them . i.e. 2 my parent , 2 my siblings, 6 of their sibling and 4 of their parents = 14 entry
2) Do I have to add my self (Canadian Citizen) in that form (that is as child in my father/mother entry)


Please help

No to both questions. You have to add only your father, mother and anyone who is their dependent who may join now or in future..

Thanks for replying. Do I still need to enter our details as "children" under Additional Family Info form though?

That is correct under your mothers section as child. You have to enter everyone in Canada and UAE (all of your mom kids). You will not add each kid as a separate row under your mother’s row. Hope it helps. Good luck!!

For the copy of the passport of my parents I know that it should include all pages. My question is that if it can be simply a scan of all pages or the copy needs to be certified first

When filling the Generic Application Form IMM 0008 for parents, it asks "Have you taken a test from a designated testing agency to assess your proficiency in English or French?".
Is it ok to say 'No' here? Will this answer cause the application to reject?

I think you don’t need to add them separately but they should be listed in the children section of the parents. My understanding is that you will need to add two sections one for each of your parents and separate section for each dependant that is not Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Also if a child is not dependant there is no need to have a separate section for that child

In the IMM008 form, it asks if the principal applicant has used any other names (e.g. nickname, alias, etc.) As an answer, should we include previous last names from previous marriages? (Currently my mom's last name is her maiden name) She had two different last names from her two previous marriages.

Hi everyone, I got an invite to sponsor my parents. From reading this thread it appears I must have designated someone as the principal applicant when completing the interest to sponsor form last year. I cant remember who I designated and I would like to include my mum as Principal applicant and the rest of the family as dependant. Please could this be a problem? Is there anyway to verify what I completed last year?

I have few more question

1. application say IMM1344 need to signed hand written by applicant as well sponsor. My parent are in India and I am in Canada. Dows this hand written means i will print sign and send the scan copy to my parents. Then they print and sign and upload the scan copy?
2. I am married to my husband and planning to put him as Co-signer. But i am confuse Do i have to submit IMM5409

I know it is already answered but still want some clarification

1. on IM1344 it ask whether i want to continue to PR application ? what is that mean. what option should i select?
2. in same form on question 4 , it ask main applicant . I have added my father as main applicant . When entered sponsorship last year i filled it for my mother and father both . So i am little confuse , putting just my father name as main applicant does this mean i am only applying for my father PR not for my mother?
3. Question 6 status in Canada ask enter date you become citizen. Is it the date of Oath ceremony ?
4. Question 4 and 5 it ask other phone and fax number. I dont have . Should i put NA there ? As guide says put NA which question is not applicable

Hi, i know the instructions are not clear in CIC portal. I ma also looking for input regarding physical sign from parents not in Canada.

Can i send scan copies of IMM 3344 form for parents to print, sign and scan again to create PDF. Does this work or should we send the physical copies via courier.
