Without jobs and the right investment, the number of skilled professionals in Canada is irrelevant; they'll only be driving Uber or flipping burgers at McDonald's. Canada has very little intentions to drive the investments in the direction of STEM. Go look up STEM jobs and compare with US and EU jobs. You'll see Canada is far behind. It saddens me to see it but I work personally with some very skilled circles in Canada and I've heard this with my own ears from one of such distinguished people: "Canada has no need for specialists."

See the population… Canada is 1/10th of USA. Population growth will drive jobs.

If this is true then what is the point of immigrating to Canada? If people are unable to find jobs, they will just leave no?

Country A: You have a better career but the country could turn upside down the next year and you could lose all you have, including your life.
Country B: You'll never have a career as good, rest assured, you'll be safe and in peace as far as other aspects of life are concerned.

Pick one. That is the point of immigrating to Canada. And yes, what you said already happens, quite a many PRs return to their countries out of dissatisfaction with what Canada has offered them.

Go look at small EU countries like Netherlands and you'll see what's going on. What's happening in Canada has nothing to do with the size of the population.

Ok, Isn’t it all related

Imagine you are only one living in home. You will learn cooking, cleaning, Doing Laundry, Dishes etc etc
Extrapolating it, With Less population people are doing multiple skills which might not be their core competency. With more people coming in, the need for specialists will increase

Businesses don't work this way. I'll give you 1000 Einsteins and you'll find that if you don't have someone who's willing to invest into a fusion reactor project, what you actually have is 1000 Uber drivers. There's a reason why we "skilled people" are called the "working class"; we work for those with a lot of money who are interested in spending it. Canada has very little of such willing people (with a lot of money).

Germany is in the league of the USA, not Canada. You should compare Canada to Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland etc. It's way behind.

Not every country is like Country A and still people are immigrating in droves especially from India where you can have a very good career with lots of growth.

As far as I know India is typical for Country A. Far more and better jobs than in Canada, yet far little pay and the already astonishingly low purchasing power could go even lower any day. Big population, risk for health crisis, risk for water crisis, food crisis etc. Most people say fuck a good career, I'll just not starve or compete against 1bil people for water and move to Canada.

I am curious to know what is making you move considering you are in Australia and so much of pessimism for Canadian Economy ? No hard feelings just curious

No hard feelings mate and nah I'm not in Aus (and I'm so glad I'm not lol). Why I'm moving to Canada is what I answered to @seadrag0n, while lacking badly in the overall job market, Canada definitely offers a good amount of peace (in general - if you're an ever competitive professional in STEM, a part of you will be missing in Canada). Canada offers safety, security, a good amount of nature and natural resources, and it's far away from the problematic parts of the world.

... oh and let's not forget FSW, it's also a reason why I picked Canada. I wouldn't pay to immigrate to Canada; I'd rather pay for an EU school or try my luck in the US.

Still, the economy is not very stable, the job market is shit, but yeah I'll still take that.

What's the point of talking about the country as a whole? India cannot be compared with Canada at all. I thought we were just talking about regular skilled jobs. From all the research I have done about jobs in Canada, if I get a full time job with the average advertised pay, I will be saving less in Canada than in India simply because the cost of living in Canada is very high. The only reason I am applying for PR is I can do it sitting at home with zero effect on my daily life and guaranteed citizenship later on.

a peace of mind is the most important factor driving people to move to canada, from what i saw for the past 10 months. i ain't for money but peaceful life.
