Defer of Admission

My study permit is yet to be granted and resumption is January. Do i need to defer or approval of study permit has nothing to do with defer of admission?

If you decide to defer, you need to inform IRCC so they can issue your visa with the updated dates.

Too early to defer unless you want to change your start date for other reasons.
