OCI Brampton my expreience - Current timeline

My OCI has been “ready for collection” as of last Friday (Mar 12), and I paid for return via Purolator, but so far have not received anything. My surrender is still under process.
BLS are inconsistent and not giving me any further info on tracking details.

Hah! About 5 minutes after my post above, the Purolator delivery man knocked on my door to hand me my OCI.
My timelines are:

Delivered to BLS: Feb 2nd
No Acknowledgement email received.
Tracking active on BLS: Feb 17 (after multiple calls)
Tracking active on CGI site/Date of acknowledgment by CGI: Feb 19
Documents printed, processed and sent to Toronto: Mar 11
Ready for dispatch: Mar 12
Delivered: Mar 17 (no tracking number provided, despite repeated calls to BLS who said it would be emailed to me)

Surrender application: still under process at CGI.

Can you travel without SC if you were to ,having just the OCI and Canadian pp?

I guess you can. I’d wish BLS would be more transparent with processing times. People who applied in Oct-Dec last year were done in 4 weeks. I’d rather just have my cancelled passport and certificate back as well since I paid $250.4 for it.

I just got Canadian citizenship on Sept 21 2021. I do not have my Indian citizenship surrender certificate yet and its going to take quite some time to get it. Can I apply for OCI without the Indian surrender certificate and will they accept my application ? I plan to travel in early December 2021.

My OCI is approved , dispatched and received at Toronto on CGI website since 8th Oct...but since today no update on BLS website...

Any Sep-Oct applicants ??

You can apply for both of them(SC+OCI) together and you dont need SC to travel.

Yes i applied it without canadian passport. I had to give a letter citing that i dont have canadian passport.

However Canadian passport comes within 7 days so its worth waiting just apply oci and SC in one application

OCI approval ; Dispacth to Toronto and Receival at Toronto all dates were updated on and with same date as 8 OCT 2021

BLS ready for collection update 13 Oct 2021

Picked up in person 14 OCT 2021.

Quick help needed. I am applying for my CANADA born daughter's OCI card. My wife and I are PR. The application and documents will have to be sent through Purolator. Do I need to mail my daughter's Original Canada Passport and Birth Certificate or will Photocopies do? Thanks.

i dont think you need SC for travel purposes. its just a proof that you have renunciated indian citizenship
