Hey, everyone!
I'm in a group with many Brazilians like me who have applied for a Canadian study permit under the Student Direct Stream (Brazil has recently been included in the list of SDS-designated countries). My application was sent this week, but there are people who have been waiting for a decision for over 50 - 60 days (8 to 9 weeks). The last couple of people from the group who managed to get their visas under the SDS applied on July 31st and September 1st, and were approved in exactly 10 days.
This really sucks because, as I recall, SDS applications used to take no more than 20 calendar days to be processed by IRCC. I hear this is related to the situation in Afghanistan, but does anyone know what exactly is going on and/or how much longer this delay should go for? I suppose applicants from other countries are experiencing this as well, so how is the processing time for you?
