Hello, I was talking to my wife and we are looking at enrolling him into a 2 year course at seneca college or centennial college (no way we can afford university) and also the colleges dont require an ielts test, just proof that he went 2 or more years to a english speaking university (which he completed 4 years).

This is what he went to university for, what 2 year course should we be looking at?

Bachelor of Science and Information Technology
• Major in Network Analysis and Design

I was talking to a friend and they said that we can somehow show the funds for him, is this true? Also what else do we need to consider money wise? He has a philippines account with money in it that he can transfer when he gets here, but only a few thousand dollars.
No IELTS can reduce the chances of the study permit being approved even if the college doesn't have this as a requirement. Best to take IELTS (Academic). Make sure he scores at least 6 in each of the four categories.

Yes, you can be a sponsor for his studies. You'll need to include your bank statements as part of his application and show you have sufficient funds to (at a minimum) cover first year tuition + $10K in living expenses. You'll also want to include an affidavit / letter committing to funding his studies.

In terms of which specific courses he should look at, that's really research he or you will need to do. He needs to pick a program that makes sense / shows progression based on his previous education and any work experience.

You want funds to be liquid. How old is he because he needs to show his own funds if not a teenager.

he is 25, just graduated. I guess we will start sending him money to put in his account to show as well.

For the proof of funds can it be a mix of his funds and ours or it has to be totally one or the other?

That will raise red flags. He will have to explain where the money is coming from if not from his own employment. He will have to explain why you are sending him money. You can show a mix of funds and it is up to the VO to decide whether an extended family member is included.

so I guess its just better to show our funds. He has funds from his current job but from PHP to CAD, its like a total of a few hundred CAD... hence the reason of him getting here so he can have a better future.

Also for the course, does it have to be a full 2 year course or can he take 2x 1 year specialized courses?
