Alot of members suggested to withdraw and put a new one . I did the latter but I dont know how it works since now my current application is non routine which could take 3 to 4 years . The new one still waiting for AOR . It's your call what you want to do.
Thank you. So you never withdraw?

I see. I phoned them this morning. They say that my application is still shown as routine. According to my passport stamp, I am really short of 3 days but I mailed it on the exact 1095 days. so I really don't know what to do now lol. I guess I should re-apply now and don;t withdraw until got the AOR? This is sad given I have passed the test even.... So close....

Firstly I'm surprised they answered your call and didn't say anything about Afghanistan related enquiry only.
Secondly , I'm in the same boat as you but they put me as non routine that also was mentioned in my GCMS otherwise I wouldn't have known. Only a lawyer can advise you the next step. Try calling a lawyer also let me know what the lawyer says. Thanks

Oh they did mention that urgent thing.

I just being patient and wait for them to finish that and tell him what's going on on my end.

The call officer did mention that if I found my physical presence is short, withdraw and resubmit. I was able to trace where my case is located. I think I will withdraw and reapply now. He did mention that even if you withdraw and resubmit at the same time should not be a big deal as long as you explain why you are resubmitting.

Ill suggest to call a lawyer before you make any decision. I did not withdraw yet but I reapplied without consulting any lawyer.

Well they know how many 2019 and 2020 applicants are there and then 2021 applicants continue to increase. So before 2020 gets squeezed more they need to clear out alot of them and bring them down to a certain number . You will see 2019 processed quicker next year first quarter.

They marked my file non routine right after the test and interview but I dont remember I have to go through many gcms notes again to figure it out . Now looking at gcms notes again gives me headaches lol
Out of curiosity, how did you come to find out about shift in processing? That's very dispiriting if it's true that they're deprioritizing 2019 cases until Q1 2022 :/

Im no 100 percent sure just following the tracker and oath invites here and on facebook group , also working it out myself "If i was in IRCC how would i reduce the backlog" But again there were 119 applicants at the oath ceremony as per an applicant on facebook. I do not know how many were 2019 or 2020. This is just my assumption do not depend on it. Things can be more clear if we get ATIP corporate records.

Just wondering, if you ever submitted your short of days to them through webform? Did you get any response on that ever or you only messaged them when you found out that you are non routine?

Ah okay, makes sense, then - we're working with the best data that we have available, which is, admittedly, not very much. It does seem anecdotally true, however, that they are pushing the post-Q2 2020 candidates through harder and faster than all the other ones; I do wonder if it's because those cases are simply easier to process and they boost their "completion" numbers significantly, rather than work on non-routine or paper applications that have to be scanned/sifted through/sorted/actioned.

Yes I submitted through webform there is no other way to submit them. I got no response just an automated bot reply. I know my application is non routine for very long. It was in 2020 when they put my file in non routine but i did not know why. Then one day i sat down and checked my documents again when I realized "Make America Great Again" . Even now my file is In Process.

I see its this way

2019/1000 applicants ----- 2020/2000 (Squeezed ones/Bottleneck) applicants -----2021/4000 ++ applicants

They know how many applications they have in 2019 and 2020. They divide years to quarters and start processing back and forth but they dont want to create backlog for 2021 so they are going to clear out first quarter 2021 to DM until they are done with 2020. 2020 is priority because 2020 is where every thing closed and backlogs were created. Alot of first quarter 2019 have been cleared only complex applicants and some Q2 are left perhaps. To reduce the backlog 2020 has to be cleared out of the pipe line.
