Passed the Citizenship test then realize I miscalculate the physical presence

Hi, I am March 2020 applicant. AOR: Oct.2020. I completed my citizen test in August 2021 and provided my passport scan on Sep 2021.

Today, for some reason I checked my physical presence and just realized that I may be short of 2 days from 1095.

Now I am really worried what might go next...

When they send you test invite, does that mean that you have passed the physical presence? Should I inform them now?

I actually don't remember all my past travel now and I am really short of 2 days from the record I think.

Help and advice is gratefully appreciated!

I do not think you can get to test stage without them having checked your physical presence. In fact you may not even get AOR if you did not meet physical presence requirement.

Thank you! OMG this is a relief!

I was so worried! I just missed one of my trips and I originally had some buffer. I completely lost count on how many days I may be presented in Canada T.T

It's just on the website they say that my physical presence check is still in progress.

Just 2 days short...

You could miscalculate that you’re 2 days short too. If you spend at least 1 minute of any day in Canada, it counts as one day, if I’m not mistaken…
If you really miscalculated, pray that they don’t notice it. Otherwise your application will be considered non-routine, and it will take time to clarify things.

Should I inform them? Why didn't they check this before sending test invite?

They most probably find it out anyway… if so, you’ll face a long process which will culminate in you standing before a judge, and the judge says that he/she cannot forgive you these two day and cannot grant you citizenship.
My advice: as soon as you find out that your application becomes non-routine, you withdraw it and apply again. You will waist time if you stay with the loser application. New applications now are being processed very fast…

Thank you for the advice.

Just wondering the withdraw process seems just go through webform?

Can I start a new application at the same time while my old one has not been withdraw?

I don't think this is true. Physical presence is checked after the test. There is no way to know physical presence when they open the file. OP said they miscalculated because they forgot to include trip(s). Without checking their record from CBSA, IRCC cannot know in advance when they open the file. From what OP reported in the application, the physical presence has been met, and thus they opened the file.

I am not sure what will happen now. They may reject the file, or put it under more scrutiny (non-routine), or just pass it. Someone said before they were 1 day short and they allowed it. Not sure how common it's to pass physical presence that are lacking, and by how much. The ball is in their court now. While your application is being processed, most likely you cannot apply for another one, because you will have 2 open files associated with the same applicant. If you keep your file and don't clarify things, they may take it as misrepresentation if they find out by your record, which may entail dire consequences like not being allowed to apply again for the next 5 years. Better to be proactive and call them and clarify this why and how you forgot these trips and see what they say.

Interesting. I believe I have seen posts on this forum where application packages were returned because physical presence criteria was not met. I could be wrong though.

Maybe not met on the application, but if physical presence is met on the application as the applicant reported it, then they will open it, and then check this later with CBSA.

Why apply when it is 1095 exact?

Why not give yourself 30 days buffer?

yeah. IRCC advises that as well exactly for these reasons where you forget that weekend trip or day trip. Anyway OP keep your fingers crossed
