Unless im mistaken if you have been given a 5 year ban that means you cannot enter canada. Visitor visa or not you wont be able to get in... Overturning the ban is the only option but would be impossible if valid and would cost a bunch of money.

I am not given a ban... When you file a PR there is a clause that my spouse cannot sponsor if she herself was sponsored in last 5 yrs. thats a ban for us.. stopping us to file spousal PR

I think if we are applying for parents then its being processed on priority. Spouses are not that important I guess for IRCC.

How do you know from which office they are processing? i applied from Saudi Arabia on Aug 2020 then re applied through new portal on Sep 12 2021.. nothing yet on both..

Thanks for reply. How to attach covid vaccination certificate. It does not appear in document list.

You can attach it in proof of relationship. Actually, this certificate is not a required document for visa processing. It is mandatory for travel so will be required when you are travelling.

Timeline,
Applied for a visitor visa to reunite with spouse (temporary residence)
First application - December 11th, 2020
Biometrics was done - December 28th, 2020
This application is still in process, it's been over 9 months.
Applied again on September 10th, 2021
Passport request September 28th,2021.
Hope this helps for the ones who are still waiting.
