So when can I actually know it's in process. What is the next stage?
If you're a paper applicant, just keep checking ecas/new tracker/email. Your status on the old tracker should change from application received to in process soon (it takes a bit more than a month usually). After that, background verification will be marked as complete. The next step is usually the test and then finally the oath. It's a long process. It's normal to have to wait for a while.

Hi folks,
Just I am wondering if they return the package because it is not complete , do they take the same time for AOR to return it or it should be less ?

Just to update the tracker:

Both of our applications are now marked as "in process" on the tracker.

App 1
submitted online and received 22 June 2021
AOR 22 Sept.
"in process" as of 23 Sept.

App 2
submitted online and received 25June 2021
AOR 23 Sept.
"in process" as of 24 Sept.

Now, I guess we wait for awhile!

Second AOR came in just now, so that was:

two single applications filed online, from vancouver.
First submitted 22 June wth an AOR of 22 Sept
Second submitted 25 June with an AOR at 23 Sept.

Toot toot!

You're referring to the new tracker (the one that you need to create an account for), right? That is NOT what the tracker is keeping track of. Whoever is updating the tracker, please don't add wrong data. That field ("in process on ecas") is not for the new tracker. For instance, online applicants cannot even login to ecas but a bunch of them have that field filled in. Please stop adding misleading data points. This is not targeted at you specifically but I am just tired of seeing misleading data and trying to see a trend while continuously ignoring data that looks wrong.

This is ecas: old tracker (https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/security.do)
This is NOT ecas: new tracker (https://cst-ssc.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login)

I have applied online, and today I got this email: So I think the new tracker does show the status and progress correctly.

Follow the progress of your citizenship grant application with the Citizenship Application Tracker
Dear Client,

Thank you for submitting your application for a grant of Canadian citizenship. Your application was created in our system on September 22, 2021 and is currently in progress.

You can now follow the progress of your application with our Citizenship Application Tracker.

The Citizenship Application Tracker allows you to check:

  • your application status;
  • any next steps you need to take;
  • our progress with your application;
  • a timeline of your citizenship grant application history.
To create an account, you need:

  • your unique client identifier (UCI);
  • your application number;
  • access to the email address in your application.
If you provided your representative’s email address in your application, they’ll check your status for you.

We look forward to welcoming you as a Canadian citizen.

Sincerely,
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
