I have applied LMIA-exempt NOC 4011 (postdoc) work permit on 26th March 2021 from India. Biometric done on 1st April and Medical passed on 9th April 2021. Since then, there is update (or ghost update) on the profile.

Can my application be considered in GSS category?

At the time of submission i think, not after.

For all those who have received PPR in just 4 to 6 weeks, what's your NOC ? It looks like they are prioritizing specific NOCs within GSS.

I am also postdoc and applied in april. Done biometric in april, medical in may and additional documents in august. Now waiting for decision.

One of my friend also postdoc applied in may, biometric in may and medical in may amd additional documents in july already got PPR and visa stamped in august.

Based on this, there is no rule how they are picking and finalising the applications

That is correct. It is all random. I hope that some progress is made in October 2021.

Well, there was no way of 'applying' for GSS. The application did not provide any way of indicating whether it was qualified for GSS.
Exactly. According to IRCC, LMIA exempt jobs qualify for GSS. It no where says that applications without upfront medical do not qualify for GSS but instead It simply says if they need additional documents, processing can take more than 2 weeks.

I mean the "Employer," not the "applicant" needs to apply, See below...

If you don’t need an LMIA (LMIA-exempt)
If you don’t need an LMIA, you will be eligible for two-week processing if you meet all of these requirements:
  • you are applying from outside Canada
  • your job is either skill type 0 (managerial) or skill level A (professional) in the National Occupational Classification system
  • your employer has submitted an offer of employment using the Employer Portal and paid the employer compliance fee
International Experience Canada applicants are not eligible.

Is there any way to confirm that application is under processing. For me the last status of application is about biometric recieved. Does the message change when application gets picked up for processing.
