Hello guys, I am PA in Family Sponsorship Spousal Application from India. I need to know what are the steps involved in the outland application. My wife has applied through a representative in Canada. I have seen on various threads people talking about status of their applications as ‘In Process’ or ‘Application Received’ etc. I need to know what are the steps involved as I’m not much aware of it.

We received an email on May 12, 2021, stating out sponsor eligibility and that application will be forwarded to New Delhi visa office

BIL on May 11, 2021
Biometric given on August 1, 2021

Medical Request on May 12, 2021
Medical done on May 23, 2021

I checked my application status on ECAS, it shows ‘Application Received’, it also states that Medical results have been received. What are the further steps or what would status be changed to next?

Your application was sent to New Delhi visa office where your eligibility will be assessed. For eligibility clearance, you may or may not be put in an interview queue or asked for any additional documents. Once Security, background check & eligibility is passed, you may or may not get a pre arrivals letter but Decision Made status. Then, Passport request.

Thank you for replying. So that means the next thing reflected on status could be either interview or pre arrival letter or most chances are of directly decision made? Right?

Interview does not appear anywhere on the website. You will get a letter or or will be able to see in GCMS notes. Pre-arrival is an e-letter which you get in GCKEY account.

So my ECAS status would not reflect any change from ‘Application Received’ anymore till the end of the process? Everything from now on would be either on GCKEY account or GCMS notes?

It will change to In Process when a visa officer will pick it up to review. From there, next status will be DM.
