Received an email back from Etobicoke IRCC today, I emailed them asking when I could expect my PR card as I needed it for travel. They just sent back a generic message saying

"At this time, IRCC has currently reduced operational capacity due to exceptional measures to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
As a result, there will be significant delays in processing the high inventory of first time PR card applications.
We are unable to provide an approximate timeline of the production and distribution of the cards. "

They went on to mention how I could use my COPR document as proof of PR for government benefits etc (But not for travel which I what I was asking about)

My question is why is Etobicoke the ONLY office having these issues? COVID has been around for almost 2 years now this is no longer an acceptable excuse. Why are other offices getting the cards produced within weeks, and why is the work not being distributed?

When did you receive the PR cards for you spouse and kid?

I have a very similar timeline to yours. I received my PR card on Sep 3rd and haven’t received for my husband. Talking to an agent last week, we found out his PR was sent to our old address.
I just received my PR card.. End of part One

Etobicoke is not the only one, I got my COPR on March 20 and sent my photo to Ottawa's VO on March 24. Zero updates.
People got plans and travelling to do it's absurd how there is zero communication. It's absolutely frustrating.

In what world does it take 6+ months for a card to get produced and mailed???

I called the IRCC today and she said my card was sent to production but due to an error, its delayed and might take 3-4 weeks more.
when I asked her that what error is that she said we cant tell you. they cant tell me any other update on that. she just said my photo is approved.
what did you asked them when you called like how did they agreed to answer your question? cause i called them several times since last few week and everytime the agent said they can not give any updates on process and simply declined to give me any information about it. Please do share your procedure, it will help us. Thanks

For those wanting to travel: the US announced today they will lift travel ban restrictions in November; if you wish, you can travel to the States and cross land border with COPR.
