Ontario College certificate counted?

Is Ontario college certificate counted in "Three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree plus a Completion of College-level certificate"?

Can I claim points for a college-level certificate course which is 2 semesters in duration from an Ontario college?

When it comes to assessing education credentials for EE, is there a minimum duration (year/semesters) for college level certificates to be considered? My college-level certificate has two semesters of 15 weeks each in one academic year. Hence asking.

@Naturgrl Thanks. Also another question.

The admissions requirements of my Ontario College certificate state:
  • Diploma or degree
OR
  • A minimum of three years of related industry experience

I have a prior Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering and am attending this program after that. Would IRCC still consider this as "Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees"? i.e. is it the order you take this up in matters (after Bachelors), or does the pre-requisite matter?

Admissions requirements have nothing to do with it. Since you have your study permit and will complete a one year certificate at a DLI then it will count.

@Naturgrl I am doing it online from overseas (due to pandemic restrictions). Also, the certificate is comprised of 2 semesters. I understand one semester is 15 weeks. So I'm wondering if that makes it a one year certificate?

On this page, it does not specifically say the College Certificate has to be 1 year hence there is ambiguity.

Three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree plus a Completion of College-level certificateTwo or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees119128

Does it say anywhere that College certificate has to be one year and done on campus?

On the CRS tool, "Distance learning counts for education points, but not for bonus points in your profile or application.". Thus, I am aware it will not be regarded as a "Canadian degree" for additional education points on section "4b".

But would this College Certificate of 2 semesters (15 weeks each semester) count towards education points (Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees)?

It should but ask your international office at the school. The second diploma must be one year.

Thanks @Naturgrl I will ask the office. Just to be sure, when you say "The second diploma must be one year.", which "second diploma" are you referring to? In my case, I have a Bachelors (4 years) and am pursuing the College Certificate. (Sorry but I want to understand this requirement clearly hence asking :))

College certificate should be one year…usually two semesters.
