Guys what is the meaning of the following:

If you applied before September 7, 2021, and you already told us that you qualify for a COVID-19 exemption

You do not need to submit a new application or write to us again.

We’ll process the application you submitted before September 7, 2021.

  • It doesn’t matter if you applied via the IRCC Portal, via your IRCC secure account, or on paper.

We’ll send you an email if we need more information from you or when we reach a decision.

Hey, I used the same old documents. But I suggest you not to reply as the CIC website has further updates and it recommends on not re-applying if you have no changes to your situation.
Oh..yeah I checked..doesn’t make sense what ircc is doing. I saw on Facebook group, someone re applied on sep 8 n got the visa approval very next day

I applied using the new portal and there we need to add additional documents like the vaccination card and new bank statement and it will ask us to add the UCI and then the fee is only 100 CAD.
below is the link I used to login and create a new application form its an online portal
https://www.cic.gc.ca/visit-visiter/en/instructions-ircc-portal
All the best

Hi Everyone,

Please let me know if anyone got approval on re-applying visa as per new instructions from cic ? Just wondering whether I should rely on my old application or submit a new one.

Yes it says " if you already told us that you qualify for a COVID-19 exemption" I applied in November 2020. How to tell them about COVID-19 exemption?
When you complete the IMM form there is an option which you can select 'other' from drop down and write COVID 19 exemption. I dont exactly remember. But I think thats what they meant by saying "f you already informed us"

I applied for our parents visitor visa on Aug 2020. And now have their biometric coming up on 14th Sept. I booked this appointment around a month or two back.... Based on the new guidelines, I am thinking if I should continue with biometric appointment and will my current application be progressed post biometric submission?
I don't want to submit new application, primarily due to further delay in getting biometric appointment. Or may be this biometric can be reused for future application (new application based on 7th Sept guidance).

Requesting guidance.

Thanks in Advance.

you can re-use bio-metric it is valid for 10 years. I will be doing the same for my Mom's application.
