What I meant is that residency issues seem like a lesser offense compared to having links with a terrorist organization, so if people with the latter issue were able to have a court force the IRCC to speed up the processing of their case then so should other applicants facing unreasonable delays. By all means go for Mandamus.I dont know about ties to any organization but if you do not meet the residency requirements do you have to wait 3 years to be refused or ur app to be returned? Do you think IRCC works with logic? Their logic gates are shorted.
AORI am with you guys and I encourage you!
Question: We must calculate the 2 years before being able to initiate this procedure from the date of dispatch and the postmark, or only from the aor (acknowledgment of receipt) from ircc ??
Thank you
It is not AOR, it is receive date.
I AM INI made this thread for people who are interested in filing for Mandamus as a group so as to get a discount from the law firm.
1. If you are thinking of Mandamus, suggest you contact a lawyer, since I believe only an individual can file to the Federal Court, as it is based on personal situation, not a group. Please read this from sshlaw: https://www.sshlaw.ca/covid-and-citizenship-delay-and-backlog/
We can file for mandamus even sooner than 2 years!
We cant simply trust lawyers for anything as they are just to take the money. But surely 2 years is good enough period to give it a try but i dont think one should try it within 2 years(its waste of time and money as cic has easy excuse of covid, lockdown, online test launch delay etc). Please read this from sshlaw: https://www.sshlaw.ca/covid-and-citizenship-delay-and-backlog/

Is this for PR one? or its similar cost for citizenship mandamus too?It really depends on the stage you get the response and the group number. you will pay a retainer amount stage by stage. The email to case management branch usually cost 500-700, mandamus filing and the first statement of response to IRCC response to the court: around 2k. Usually you should see a movement after this stage as IRCC does not want to spend time and money on 20 routine applications. If the case goes to hearing then it will cst more. I suggest reach out to them to see how much does it cost for a group. Mandamus should be filed individually but if they know 20 people will apply give a discount. Another suggestion to discuss, is a possibility of a class action lawsuit regrading the unfair process of applications, no souring system, no clarity, etc. I suggest reach out to them by email and see what’s the best/cheap option.
These dates means nothing. Why later applicants are getting oath invites? They use these dates only to shut people's mouth to not object to their internal affairs. We cant simply trust lawyers for anything as they are just to take the money. I was thinking that i would wait till the standard processing time to think on legal filing but they are still stuck at early to now mid 2019(June 2 and 8, 2019) .
Seems it would take more than 1 year from now to reach Feb2020
