Hi there,

Hope you all are doing great.

I shall submit the online application in 2-3 weeks once I receive my PCC. I have a query regarding the change of address after submission of the app. I may move to a new place in six months and I dont think my application will be process by then.

I wonder if it will affect the processing of my application if I change my address? I know I will need to submit the webform for address change but will it affect the processing time of my application?

Your help/advice would be appreciated. Thank you! Cheers!

Address changes might involve a file transfer and that might add some delay to the application. But lately and possibly because of Covid, looks like even though the applicant changes the address that falls under the jurisdiction of a different office, the "Event office" remains the same (meaning, the office where you receive the test invite, for instance).

So, after you change your address and the address is update on the system, you can order GCMS notes to see if a file transfer will be done in your case.

Good luck!

Thank you @rajkamalmohanram , appreciate it!

So how about submitting the address of my relative as the primary address from the beginning? Any thoughts on that please? Thank you!

Cheers!

Well, you cannot lie about the residential address. You MUST provide your current home address in Canada. You can add your relative's address for mailing address if you want to.

Thanks @rajkamalmohanram , yeah that makes total sense! I didnt know that we can do that (add two separate addresses), so in that case it wont affect my processing time if I put my actually address as residential and my relative's address as mailing one from the beginning?

Thanks so much sir!
