Hi all! :)

If I have an active PR application, am I able to apply for a tourist visa to just go to Canada on a vacation so long? If anyone has done this, kindly let me know.

I'd be interested in visiting to look around, spend some money, and have a nice vacation, before coming back home to wait out the rest of my processing.

Would I be able to get a tourist visa to go to Canada? What would IRCC think? And would there be any potential downsides in terms of my PR application?

Just don't want to do anything that might impact my file.

Thanks in advance!

I have the same question. My file is approved since Nov-20 as per GCMS, but haven’t received anything after that. Can I apply for a Tourist Visa in the meantime.. will it affect my PR Application? @legalfalcon could you please advise? Thanks.

Thank you. :)

Thanks! Do you know if there are crazy delays with processing visitor visas right now as well, or is that process relatively smooth?
Will depend on the country form where you apply.

Will reaching Canada on TRV and changing CoR help processing FSW O fast? (Not immediate but comparatively in coming months?)

I'm NOV AOR, if I land in Canada in Nov this year, what do you think this backlog mess be sorted before May next year, before 6 months of TRV?

I used the Government of Canada tool that tells you processing times. It said an average of 72 days for a visitor visa application from South Africa. Can that be trusted?

I only ask because it also currently says 6 months for an FSW PR application, which is very clearly an out-of-date processing average.

It is more or less correct. However, this time doe not include any of the time you spend to give biometrics and starts only when your application is marked as complete.

No, only how the PPR is issued will change. For inland applicants, the process is to issue e-COPR.

Just following on from this thread. @legalfalcon or anyone else, could you kindly provide advice?

I am on the Canadian Government website for applying for a visitor visa, and there are questions to follow. If I click that I'm only partially vaccinated, it says I'm not eligible. But the thing is, I want to get the ball rolling and apply for the visa so long, while I wait for my second vaccine appointment. It is already booked for the 2nd of October, so by the time I actually want to go to Canada, and my visa is approved (hopefully), I will be fully vaccinated.

Can I apply for the visa so long? Or will IRCC see that I'm only partially vaccinated right now, and decline the visitor visa?
