I just saw that you got your Citizenship Certificate on 12th August and got your Passport on 18th August, did you apply for Urgent pickup? If so what reason is acceptable? They will see your original IDs (drivers license , health card etc). Then you will have to sign oath affirmation form in front of an agent, one signature before and one after oath. You will take oath with rest of the ppl. In the end you will need to cut your PR card in 4 parts. Scan the signed oath affirmation form, take picture of cut PR card and send to your local office (reply to oath invite email). That is it. Pretty straightforward.
Yes you canIs it possible to use Foreign Passport or PR Card as your ID if you dont have a drivers license?
No I applied for standard processing. Walk ins are open in my area (Kitchener Waterloo) that is why my passport was processed super fast. Mail in processing times are over a month these days. For urgent processing you need to be travelling in around 2 weeks time at the time of application. You will need to show proof like tickets etcI just saw that you got your Citizenship Certificate on 12th August and got your Passport on 18th August, did you apply for Urgent pickup? Looks like Kitchener PP office is one of the very few PP office that is able to accommodate many applicants. I live in Mississauga but I have been scheduled to submit my Urgent Passport request in Kitchener PP office!! Mississauga Passport office is FULLY booked until September 9th and there isn't a single spot for Urgent Processing requests. No I applied for standard processing. I have made a detailed post about my Virtual oath ceremony experience, in case you guys are interested =>Why what questions do they ask during Oath Ceremony? Anyone went through the process can you share your experience?
How can we scan the oath affirmation form? Isn't it a soft copy because the oath is virtual? They will see your original IDs (drivers license , health card etc). Unrelated question based on your signature: how long did it take for the new tracker to be updated after DM for the oath ceremony? This information is not reflected in your signature or the spreadsheetNo I applied for standard processing. I did not have to do it yesterday. Same Mississauga office, but the document check official was from Scarborough. She was helping the Mississauga team yesterday. She asked if I had the COPR. I replied in the affirmative and she asked me to hold on to it carefully and never laminate it. Need it when we turn 65 for old age pension.Me. Yeah. Not sure why my officer asked me to write that statement on the COPR. It is very weird, I've never heard anyone having to write anything on the COPR after oath.I did not have to do it yesterday.
