SIN number which starts with 9 is usually work permit and study permit and if it starts with any other number then that is for PR (province wise)

The permit usually states really clear whether it is a study permit or work permit.

A SIN starting with a 9 has an expiry date linked to your work permit .Issued to non residents . A ITN individual tax number starts with a 0, that’s for non residents to only file tax returns

No. You can work up to 20 hours a week off campus on a study permit.

Course has to be less than 6 months. Plus right now you need study permit for short courses.
