First of all, apologies if this isn't the right group. I would like to know if I can visit Mexico and return back with my Canadian work permit. Any potential risks?

If you hold a valid TRV, then yes.

yes you can, you need to have valid TRV.
Hotel booking for your stay there and booked return plane ticket.
i just travelled with same document above to mexico and went to Canada.

Cool! Mine is for another 2 years, but my wife's expires this december. New TRV application in progress..

No. Nothing but on a way to come back you gotta do RT PCR.
You have to fill one form on a flight to mexico. Do keep a pen in your carry on’s
