Lol. Whether we like it or not, Covid is a convenient but solid excuse for the delays. Even the judges know this because they haven't been going to courts for hearings and all, and IRCC also have a solid reason as to why most applications could not be finalized without in-office activities. Y'all should not burn funds, things will take shape soon enough.
I hope things fall in place soon but how can they give covid as excuse yet finalize CEC applications in less than 2 months? Pretty sure at least 50% of staff would have resumed by now but they are 100% focusing on a particular stream

I would say, ‘we also flood JT’s tweets’. Potential voters would be constantly checking their social media accounts to follow up on campaign during periods like this
Yeah. But again, I doubt voters care all that much about it. What I'd hope for is international media/non-media attention. If IRCC's image is hurt, that'll cost them money in the long run so they can't just sit there and watch. They've sent out a poll right?

Agree with you about preserving funds

Yeah but how does that prevent them inviting more people when they've set themselves such lofty targets, Never mind approving them
Honestly, inviting new people would be suicidal - if we consider the large backlogs they've got, even without frequent draws. Who is going to treat the new applications when the old ones are languishing in their care? Invite more people and increase the pressure on the institution? I personally think they're playing it safe, it's super commodious for them to think they owe you nothing until you've been invited to apply.

Very little politics is played online so it wouldn't matter. Politics is local everywhere and an average citizen doesn't give a freaking hoot about how immigration is processed.

Because it is evidently easier to finalize than most FSW applications?

Love your optimism Dxdroid! Happy Monday everyone, this week will definitely bring us closer to our goals, or at least let us try to use that optimism to manifest our destiny!
You have to live somehow. What is the point to be pesimistic about it. FSW is not going away :) something is cooking behind the scene that we do not see it.

The media houses play it safe whenever covid pops up as excuse.

Just wait ;) a little bit more
There are applications in process with people waiting since more than 1.5 years and people waiting for ITAs for more than 8 months. Wondering what will be the reason to wait more after 7th Sept.

While I hope something positive happens next month, I feel we are keeping too many expectations on that date.

Yeah maybe but I doubt Indian or Asian press would care that much about covid. When I say international I mean the press in the countries where large numbers of potential candidates exist.

Yeah I'm expecting IRCC to only start communicating their plans for FSW on or shortly after this date. It may be days, weeks before we start seeing their plans implemented. I just want to hear something from them for our cohort...that's all

Yep, I believe so too. Forget the diplomacy of not responding to bashings on Twitter, Marco actually sees them. He's improvising to achieve his targets to look like a success, but also smart enough to understand that too much improvisations would be brandished 'convenient' and thus, improvident. I strongly believe things are going to change soon. We're all angry but let's not allow our angers get in the way of reasoning.

Any pressure coming from the press outside Canada is worthless in my opinion. They'll be slapped with the you-don't-know-what's-going-on-in-our-country excuse as soon as their articles go live.
