Hi there,

I am planning to travel to Canada with PR Visa next month and Canada has banned direct flights from India to Canada. What is the procedure for the Covid-19 testing from a connecting flight?

As to my knowledge so far I have to get tested prior to boarding a flight from India and I will have to get tested at the layover airport also.

The covid-19 test report comes after 24 hours. Will I have to be at the layover airport for this long or do I just have to get tested and the report will be sent to Canadian authorities respectively?

What if I am negative in India and succumb to covid after boarding the flight?

Will I be quarantined in the connecting airport?

Please advise on the above questions. I hope people here will the right answers.

Every transit route has there own requirements. Some require you to layover in another country for a few days. If you test positive for covid you essentially would Be trapped in the transit country. If in the airport and the country refuses you entry it is up to the airline to figure out what to do. Assume they don’t want you traveling but assume many have turned a blind eye and potentially infecting the other passengers.

You can either travel through a tourist country where you can get tourist visa easily i.e. Dubai, Maldives, etc . Travel to that country n stay there for about 2 days n get the covid test report.. then travel to Canada from there..
But i will suggest since you are travelling next month, wait for the ban to be lifted.. most probably the ban will be lifted on 21st September as the Indian Foreign Ministry has also written to Canada asking them to restart the flights.. why go through all the unnecessary hassle n pay double or triple the money wen you can get a direct flight next month

The Indian government asking Canada to restart routes likely happened last month too. Doesn’t guarantee that the ban will be lifted. With our numbers increasing dramatically there are likely going to be attempts to limit travel. Travel from India makes up a lot of traffic so there will still be reluctance to restart direct routes. We’ll need to wait and see what happens.

Airlines should be foaming at their mouths waiting for all this air traffic considering covid lockdown affected their businesses

Hei, Can you please clarify below:-
I was finishing up with the account details for World Education Services (WES) education assessment on their website. But got stuck at a particular step. Please read on:

I will be applying to the express entry and Ontario PNP (OINP) and possibly to other PNPs as well.
  1. Now, IRCC is the default recipient of my assessment.
  2. However, I am confused if I need to manually add all the PNPs I'm interested in or just IRCC is enough. Can you help, please

Thanks a lot!
