Biometrics appointment issue due to covid19

Hello everybody,

My wife is from Iran and we have recently received her biometrics instruction letter which she must submit before September. 13, she must travel to another country to attend a VAC as there are none in Iran presently. the issue is that my wife may have contracted covid19 as her doctor said she was but she was never tested, and she will be getting tested today. In the situation that she is positive it will be impossible for her to fly abroad to submit her biometrics. Does IRCC typically extend biometrics submission deadlines? I would hate for us to start all over again.. Thanks for your time

Yes she will get an extension. Send in a webform and attach proof of her positive covid test then explain that she is unable to travel to Turkey (I assume) to do her biometrics because she has covidl. I would book a biometric appointment for the future and include that you have already booked a test for X date that she will attend as long as you she is well enough after getting through covid and a recovery period. Would suggest booking another biometric between 6-8 weeks to allow enough time for recovery. She can always travel earlier if necessary.
