Visitor Record extension for Infant

Hi, Could anyone please help me how can we extend the visitor record for the infant baby. Me and my wife both are PR and our baby travelling to Canada on Sep 2nd TRV. We already applied PR application for her and waiting for approval. how can she stay more than 6 months.
Should we inform at the immigration itself or apply later on. Please help.

If the child doesn’t get PR before you the 6 month expires you’ll need to apply online to extend his/her stay.
