Dear all,
Hope you are doing well
I made a soft landing in November 2018 and returned in November 2020, where I remained for three months before departing. I'll be back in Canada in October 2021 and will remain there. Given that I will be unable to apply for citizenship within the first five years period, my question is if I may renew my permanent residency after two years and then stay one more year and apply for citizenship at the conclusion of that time. Is there going to be any trouble? Full day or half-day counts will be used to determine how many days have passed to apply for citizenship

Your kind answers will be greatly appreciated

No issues in PR card renewal and applying citizenship. Both can be done together or separately.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/canadian-citizenship/grant/residence/calculate-physical-presence.html

Rules always change. So first accumulate the residence days and then check the calculator to know your days https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/rescalc/resCalcStartNew.do . You can also use this calculator today to simulate your number of days stayed from 2018-2023 or 2019-2024, based on today's rule.

Thanks so much for your kind reply
So it means I can renew my PR and then apply for citizenship without any problem. And all days before signing the application 5 years back will be considered fully
