Remove my middle name before or after citizenship application

I came as a refugee to Canada about three years ago and I got my PR immediately. There was a mistake in my papers since day 1; somehow they used my father’s name as a middle name in my visa and landing paper (and all the ID I got after th

I’ve did nothing about it so far as I didn’t want to face any issues when applying for citizenship.

Was that the right thing to do? I am so confused now and I don’t want to have my deceased father’s name as part of my name for the rest of my life.

Should I know apply for citizenship and deal with that issue later? Or I can ask them to drop my middle name in my application without causing any delays ?? For sure I don’t want to face any delays as the whole thing is already taking two years.

I would deal with the error now, and somehow explain why you chose not to deal with it since day 1. This can certainly cause your citizenship application to be non-routine when you point out the error dating back to your CORP, PR, and all Canadian IDs ..
