My wife will get her Canadian Citizenship in December. At that point what happens? She wants to just be Canadian and not Filipino anymore. Does anyone know the process of cancelling her Philippine passport?

Found this =>

https://houstonpcg.dfa.gov.ph/index...enship/renunciation-of-philippine-citizenship

But this appears to be specific to the US. Need some more digging to find out the procedure for Canada.

I searched for the procedures of renunciation from Canada but did not find anything relevant.

Any Filipino citizen who is naturalized by another foreign country will automatically lose their Filipino citizenship. Hurray! She doesn't have to do anything.

If a Filipino wants to claim dual citizenship (which is recognized in the Philippines) after foreign naturalization and also apply for a Philippine passport, he/she will have to apply for retention/re-acquisition.
