Hello guys

Need some help in understanding what does Ceremony ready mean ..when news ECAS show citizenship oath not started

I got my GCMS notes and the notes say citizenship granted file is ceremony ready as of 1st March 2021

Vow... Ceremony ready from March and wondering what cic officer/office is waiting for.... my god... these guys are simply putting files on hold for no reason. Surely your office would have conducted many ceremonies in the last 4 months and not scheduling oath for you.

where do you see ceremony ready? A few weeks ago my tracker showed complete for everything but citizenship ceremony and now background check is in progress again.

after the test in januray they told me oath will happen shortly but nothing since then my application i submit in 2019 at calgary

Remember, for them once your file reaches DM, they have stopped the processing of your file and this can be added to their statistics of file completed.

That is true. Processing time begins from when the application reaches them and it ends when a decision is made on the application.

I never thought applying for citizenship will be this chaotic and stressful. After I applied for asylum which took me just two months of waiting to the hearing and two weeks to get a NOD then pr which took me 20 months and was right in the processing time, I thought I was done with the anxiety gosh I was so wrong.

Ok thanks for reminding on it. Forgot totally. So its like i have earned enough credits but cant apply for graduation because of the colorful presentation at cic might change from green to orange red. Nice. So happy.

I requested for GCMS notes and in the notes its mentioned Ceremony Ready - Yes , MP Letter - Yes , Candidate has been granted Citizenship based on Citizenship Act etc. Tracker just says "Citizenship Oath" - Not started ( New tracker) and Old one says DM

Hello guys….. what is going on with CIC …. Still waiting for Oth ceremony although got DM in old ECAS in July 15 and all completed in new tracker except citizen ceremony shows not started…. Let’s together here and share ur time for the same status to know what is timeline after DM to ceremony in these days….
My Passport is already expired and PR card will be on Aug 21… not sure i need to renew it in this situation… plz guide me….

Welcome to the waiting club... My file was updated ceremony ready since March 1st 2021 and am still waiting for the ceremony ( through GCMS note i came to know) .. I have applied for PR card renewal anyway as I do have travel plans in December if conditions improve back home.

I would recommend renew your PR card and passport just in case .

6-8 weeks seems to be the "back of the napkin" calculation between DM and Oath, although your mileage may vary. My DM was on 23rd of July and I'm not expecting any movement until sometime next month. For the poor person waiting since March 1st, that's terrible!

my file changed from decision made o in progress and background verifiction is in progress again. anyone know why? i was told in januray my oath will happen shortly but never did. when i call ircc, they say they can't comment on my file and ask to wait to hear from case officer.

thanks for replying. it showed decision made in january after few days after interview but changed to in process 2 weeks ago
