Hey everyone, I'm applying for a Work Permit through IEC... and last friday my review of eligibility went back to the initial status. From: "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements." to "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start reviewing your eligibility."

What's going on? This is so frustrating...

Here's my timeline:

CANADA WP IEC TIMELINE

Entered Pool: 4th March 2021
Invitation To Apply received: 18th March 2021
Medical Exam: 29th March 2021
Biometrics Completed: 12th April 2021
Medical Exam Accepted: 13th April 2021
Start Reviewing Eligibility: 27th May 2021
Review of Eligibility Rollback: 6th August 2021

- What country are you from?
- Have you previously held an IEC?
- Where are you living now? Canada? Your home country? Elsewhere?
- Any chance you have previous refusals you failed to declare?
- Any chance you have any admissibility issues (e.g. DUI)?
- Any chance you've aged out (i.e. aged out before you submitted your application)?

- Have you previously held an IEC? No, I'm applying for YP for the 1st time
- Where are you living now? Brazil
- Any chance you have previous refusals you failed to declare? Never tried to get a visa
- Any chance you have any admissibility issues (e.g. DUI)? No issues
- Any chance you've aged out (i.e. aged out before you submitted your application)? I am 23

I assume there are also no issues with your employment offer and it's tied to your education / any past work experience.

If so, you may be worrying about nothing. Sometimes statuses flip back and forth for no real reason.

This is a little frustrating, IEC should have a processing time of 8 weeks and I am waiting for way more time... anyway, let's wait.

Current processing times are estimated at 12 weeks (the 8 weeks was pre-COVID and is no longer a reality). The 12 weeks is an estimate and it's certainly possible for it to take longer. Hopefully your application is close to a decision.

Did the review of eligibility start again or did it stay in the same initial state when you got the approval letter? My work permit status rolled back a few days ago and I am really worried.
