Guess time will tell whether this causes a great increase in hospitalizations and / or deaths especially considering the high vaccination rates.

Many people who got the first dose are hesitating to get the remaining shot because they see the provinces opening up. I would say, Canada needs to normalize vaccine passports and this will also encourage the unvaccinated population to go get their shots. The 4th wave will hit the unvaccinated population hard

Vaccine bookings doubled after Quebec became the first province to announce vaccine passports. So I guess that maybe the future. Hope things don't return to any form of lockdowns again.

It's tricky to force people to get the vaccine.

No province will resort to complete lockdowns that marked the first 3 waves: the difference now is that more than half the population of every province is fully vaccinated. There may be localized restrictions from time to time but we have now gone past the widespread generalized lockdown approach

Not necessarily forcing them. Vaccine passports is more like a subtle way to encourage many more people to get the shots. It seems to be the way forward now in order to protect the community and vulnerable population. Justin Trudeau is even in full support of this system

I doubt people will co-operate if another lockdown happens, they were already protesting the previous one.

I don't think so as well. And I don't think any government would want to lockdown again. The cases aren't exactly going down in the UK and Yankee and they aren't even contemplating another lockdown.
