Study permit application in process for over a year

Hi everyone,

I submitted my brother's study permit application last year in April and still have not received a decision. It's still in processing, and he got an email saying that he had passed the first stage of eligibility (something new because of covid) last year in September, but have heard nothing ever since. I have sent emails and webforms inquiring about his application. Deferred his college entry twice, and will have to do this again. Has anyone faced such an issue? Can an application stay in processing for much longer, it has been 15 months already.

yes ive done that 2 months after lodging my application. i got approved 3 months after ordering gcms. thru gcms u can see the exact status of your application. if it was already finished processing. if you are already on the last stage of processing which is the passport request. then you can call IRCC to inform them that you have a pending passport request thru ur gcms, and if they can process further ur application.

Order GCMS Note asap. That could give you the answer
