This is the frustration with VFS Lagos. I had sent several emails to them and chatted with the customer service many times. Their response has always been the same...directing you to immigration office at Accra, as if we were the one that sent the passport to the embassy directly... they take no responsibility at all for the passports.

And they are aware that the Embassy is not responsive to emails and calls. I sent emails to the Ghana embassy since 20 business days ago, no response at all. When you call, you can't speak to any agent, you'll have to leave a voice message.

This is really frustrating... sometimes imagination runs wide with one wondering something else is going on with the stamped passports at VFS Lagos.

My candid advice to those that have not submitted, don't send your passport through Lagos or Abuja VFS....send it to Accra VFS directly... I wished I did my research very well before sending through VFS Lagos.

VFS Abuja and Lagos are not responsible.... a responsible office would have reach out to the Embassy on to know what is going on with the passports after this kind of delay.

May be we should all send email to accraimmigration... etc but I will suggest we reply to the Embassy twits on Twitter at

@CanHCGhana @IOM_Nigeria @IOMGhana we've sent our passport for over 7 wks on request. Spousal PR was approved over 4 wks ago but passport has not been returned. @VFSGlobal Lagos claims @CanHCGhana is with our passports! @CanHCGhana returns no emails/calls. Pls return our passport! @CitImmCanada

Yes you are correct but on the other hand it maybe strategic. I feel there are particular reasons for the delay. I don’t think it’s just due to negligence. I just hope they have an idea what people are going through cos of the delay. Anyway let’s be hopeful and positive.

I don't think whatever strategy ( By VFS) it may be is right! I don't think anyone will be hesitant to pay more to get quick delivery and return. Why delay people's passport... migration apart, people are grounded, one can not even travel to Ghana....

We need to keep hope alive but what is not right is not right and I think we need to act as this could linger for a longer time than expected.

The only time I got a response...it took them 3 weeks and it was a generic response.

Bro, we understand your pain...we all are in it too.

It's very annoying that VFS Lagos is not willing to complete their job by reaching out to Accra on our behalf.

I specifically appealed to VFS Lagos via an email to help reach out to Accra, but instead, they sent me an email to reach out to Accra myself.

Other Visa offices complete this task in 3 days and ours is taking months.

The Twitter use makes so much sense but I am not sure we all have VPN's.

Email to Accra seems inevitable at this point.

So it is obvious that dealing directly with Accra Vfs is the best move to save time.
