CIC email asking about physical presence

Hi all,

I have passed the citizenship test and now waiting for the next step. Just got an email from CIC: "For the progress of your Citizenship Application, we must confirm that you have returned to Canada. Could you reply to this email as soon as possible and indicate to us whether or not you are currently in Canada?"
Has anybody received emails like between completed test and the oath ceremony?

Hmmm, that's weird. This is the first report I'm seeing about such an email from IRCC.

Looks like they are doing this to prioritize applicants that are currently living in Canada (?) ,not sure.

If you travelled out of Canada during your eligibility period, it’s possible that there is no record of your entry back in. Hence the email.
just a thought though.
